According to CultureMap San Antonio, “Dallas-based ice cream shop Paciugo Gelato Caffe hopes to make a splash on the River Walk.”

Coming to 111 W. Crockett Street, taking over a spot that was previously home to Ben & Jerry’s, the concept will land near establishments such as Hard Rock Cafe, Paesanos Riverwalk, and Tacos Los Hermanos.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the concept’s owner, Jeff Sinelli, to inquire about the expansion, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Paciugo Gelato Cafe, the business offers a brief origin story on its website: “In 1999 armed with a secret family gelato recipe, [Ugo Ginatta] moved to America and opened the first Paciugo store. It was love at first taste. America could not get enough of the silky smooth, irresistibly delicious gelato served in an environment that felt uniquely Italian.”

Paciugo currently operates over 45 locations across the US.

An opening date has not been announced yet, but according to a sign posted on the door of the address it’s “coming soon.”
