According to a recently submitted permit application, a free-standing Panda Express location is coming to Marbach Road & Loop 1604 in San Antonio.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Panda Express to inquire about the upcoming outpost, but representatives could not provide further information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing offers additional insight.

Construction of the new 2,693-square-foot restaurant is scheduled to begin on September 30, 2024, and be completed on September 30, 2025. For an estimated $2,000,000, the job will be carried out by the Dallas-based architecture firm idGROUP.

Should the project continue as planned, Panda Express will land near eateries such as El Tequila Mexican Restaurant & Bar, Subway, and Whataburger.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the international chain’s history, Panda Express was founded in 1983 in Glendale, California by the Cherng family. With more than 2,000 locations across the US, the Cherng family continues to own and operate all outposts.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so follow Panda Express on Facebook for updates.
