According to a recently submitted permit application, a free-standing Panda Express restaurant is coming to Loop 337 & Oak Run Parkway in New Braunfels.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Panda Express to inquire about the upcoming outpost, but representatives were unable to provide further information before publication.

Nevertheless, a recent construction permit application offers additional insight.

According to the filing, construction of the 2,621-square-foot outpost is scheduled to begin on November 6 and be completed by May 15, 2024. For an estimated $750,000, the job will be carried out by the Dallas-based architecture firm idGROUP.

Should the project continue as planned, Panda Express will land near eateries such as Las Fontanas, On the Grind Coffee, and Papa John’s.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the international chain’s history, Panda Express was founded in 1983 in Glendale, California by the Cherng family. Now, with more than 2,000 locations across the US, the Cherng family continues to own and operate all outposts.

Whether the location will offer a drive-thru is still unclear. Follow Panda Express on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates.
