Robert Fleming founded the restaurant and was famously known as Mr. Pancake. On May 31, 2025, the social media announcement of his sudden death left everyone in tears. Those who met him or tasted his recipes expressed their grief and prayed for his peace.

His family and staff will carry on his legacy. On June 5, the restaurant posted that all three locations will close on June 10 as a tribute. Regular service will resume on Wednesday morning, June 11.
