Mai O Mai will discontinue food truck operations after July 31, 2025. Since its launch, the San Antonio food truck has been a downtown fixture parked outside Tony’s Siesta.

Chef Ivan Torres shared a series of Instagram stories chronicling the food truck’s four-year journey. Reflecting on that first night, Torres recalled, “I had just turned 25 and I had zero intention of opening a food truck.”

Looking back, Torres said he had no idea what lay ahead, but four years later, he calls the experience both the toughest and most rewarding of his life. After much deliberation and with a heavy heart, Ivan decided to conclude the chapter.

“I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished and what the name “Mai O Mai” has come to mean in this city,” he added. He extended gratitude to the patrons for their support and smiles. He expressed gratitude for the laughs, late nights, and love shared by everyone who stopped by the truck.

He ended the note saying, “Thank you to all my friends, my family, Lia, and @tonyssiesta I never would have succeeded without you.”

Next Project

DJ AROD will return to the patio for one final night of live music as the truck closes out its run. The spot served customers delicious lemon pepper, chicken fried rice, and OG wings.

Torres shared that he’s preparing for the next chapter in his culinary career. However, he will continue to reflect on the journey with appreciation. Before signing off, he encouraged followers to stay tuned for updates on his next venture.

San Antonio locals responded with heartfelt messages, reflecting on their favorite dishes and memories from the truck.
