Popular San Antonio Spot Prepares to Shut Its Midtown Location

San Antonio’s local favorite, The Growler Exchange, is closing its Midtown location. The announcement was shared on social media, along with details for its final week of celebrations.The Taproom is inviting guests to stop by for special deals, including $5 pints and 30% off growler fills. Guests have been encouraged to bring their own food, as the kitchen is now closed.

The Growler Exchange Prepares to Close

Pizza and beer are a classic American pairing, and The Growler Exchange built its reputation on that idea, offering one of the best combinations at both of its locations. The Taproom features an extensive selection of American craft beer, including some renowned names like Growler Exchange, False Idol, Live Oak, Firestone Walker, and many more.

Through a recent social media post, the Taproom announced the closure of its Elmira Street, Midtown location. “With all the memories & great times, it’s tough to say this, but our Midtown location is closing,” said the team.

On December 13, the Midtown taproom will serve its last meal. To celebrate its final week, the Taproom is offering “$5 pints $ 30% OFF GROWLER FILLS!!” from December 9 to December 13. The offer is only available at the Midtown location.

In the post, the Taproom further extended a warm welcome to the guests and encouraged them to bring their friends and family to the Growler Exchange before it closes its doors permanently. “Bring your friends & family so they can cherish this gem that we will miss dearly,” shared the Taproom.

The Broadway Location Remains Open

Even though the Midtown location is closing down, the Growler Exchange will continue its legacy and serve the San Antonio community at its Broadway location. The Taproom assured, “DON’T WORRY FOLKS, BROADWAY IS HERE TO STAY!”

After news broke about the Midtown closure, fans and loyal patrons shared heartfelt messages, saying they will deeply miss the Taproom.

With the Midtown closure, the community is saying goodbye to a long-time neighborhood favorite. The Taproom has not shared any official reason behind the closure.
