According to a recently submitted permit application, Portillo’s Hot Dogs — a chain known for its Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, and cake shakes — plans to debut a new outpost in Schertz.
Coming to the 18678 I-35 N, the eatery will land near establishments such as Dutch Bros Coffee, Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse, and Willie’s Grill & Icehouse.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Marc Miller, the Vice President of Operations at Portillo’s Hot Dogs, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight.
Construction of the 6,160-square-foot “quick-service restaurant, drive-thru, and indoor/outdoor dining and trash enclosure.. with multi-occupant restrooms” is scheduled to begin on April 1 and be completed on September 30.
For an estimated $6,000,000, the project will be carried out by Allen, Texas-based firm PM Design Group, Inc.
An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
