According to a recently shared press release, the restaurateurs behind The Newstand Coffee & Sandwiches — “a premier coffee shop, café, and lifestyle brand” situated near The Pearl in San Antonio — are debuting a new concept in the city, The Dispatch.
Coming to the lobby of McCombs Plaza, located at 755 E. Mulberry Avenue, the eatery will land near establishments such as Augie’s Barbed Wire Smokehouse & Shaved Ice, the American restaurant Bombay Bicycle Club, and Pizza Classics.
“The Dispatch is designed to be a quintessential go-to for an on-the-go espresso, light lunch, or a change of scenery when working on the go or between classes,” the statement shares.
On the menu will be coffee-based beverages, fresh juices, smoothies, specialty drinks such as the Just Peachy — “made with fresh Texas peaches, high-quality grade matcha, and sweet cream cold foam” — house-made pastries, and salads like the Kale Fruit Salad, “made with seasonal fruit, spiced citrus, and Texas pecans.”
“The design of the intimate space will offer quiet elegance, outfitted with green marble countertops, terra cotta-tiled surfaces, muted earth tones, and rich woods, which provide a polished yet welcoming boutique lobby café experience with a curated yet comfortable environment that elevates the everyday,” the introduction continues.
What Now San Antonio reached out to the concept’s owners, Page Pressley and Dez Rodriguez, to learn more about the upcoming business; however, they could not provide additional information before publication.
