San Antonio Chef Leo Davila Taking Over Restaurant at St. Anthony Hotel

According to Express News, popular local chef Leo Davila is closing his popular Mexican restaurant Stixs & Stone but bringing a new concept to Alamo City.

Taking over the restaurant and bar space at St. Anthony Hotel, located at 300 E Travis Street, the eatery will land near establishments such as La Panadería Bakery Café, La Vida Coffee, and The Bunker Mixology.

“Chef Davila’s talent, creativity, and deep connection to the flavors of South Texas make him the perfect fit for the St. Anthony Hotel,” Maria Martinez, the hotel’s general manager, shares.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Davila, he’s best known for his Mexican restaurant, Stixs & Stone. The restaurant website offers a brief introduction: “In the spring of 2021, Davila opened his first brick-and-mortar, Stixs & Stone, an Asian and Tex-Mex fusion restaurant.”

“Chef Leo became well-known for his unique flavor combinations and eye-catching twists on San Antonio staples. His widely recognized Big Red & Barbacoa taco encompasses his childhood in a taco. The heirloom nixtamalized masa is infused with Big Red soda, giving the masa it’s distinct red hue.”
