According to a recently submitted permit application, Long John Silver’s at 1737 SW Loop 410 — near establishments such as Peter Piper Pizza, Planet Fitness, and Whataburger — plans to undergo renovations.
What Now San Antonio reached out to the franchisee, Scott Bradley of Arkansas-based business LJS OPCO Two, LLC, to inquire about the scheduled updates, but he could not provide additional information before the time of publication.
Nevertheless, the filing shares that the “project entails a scrape and rebuild of an existing LJS into a new prototypical LJS” and construction is slated to begin this October and finish on March 3, 2025. For an estimated $1,800,000, Ohio-based firm CESO, Inc. will carry out the project.
For readers who are unfamiliar with Long John Silvers, the eatery describes itself on its website as an “American chain of fast-food restaurants that specializes in seafood” and shares that “the brand’s name is derived from the character of the same name from Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Treasure Island.”
Locals can expect the menu to remain consistent: platters of fried chicken, fish, and shrimp, with sides including hushpuppies, coleslaw, and green beans.
An opening date has not been announced yet, so follow Long John Silvers on Facebook for updates.
