Dashi Sichuan Kitchen + Bar has been a San Antonio favorite, known for bold flavors, creative cocktails, and a modern twist on Sichuan cuisine The restaurant became a local favorite for its vibrant dishes, lively events, and inclusive menu design.
The restaurant, announced through a Facebook post, “To the San Antonio Community, Our Friends, and Family, It is with a heavy heart and profound gratitude that we share an important update. We have made the incredibly difficult decision to cease operations at Dashi Chinese Kitchen + Bar, effective immediately. Decisions like this are never easy. Dashi was a dream realized—a vibrant space dedicated to bringing bold, modern, and expansive Chinese flavors to San Antonio.”
Furthermore, the restaurant shared great appreciation and gratitude for its loyal customers and partners and mentioned, “To the incredible Dashi team, past and present: You were the heartbeat of this restaurant. Your passion, artistry, and unwavering commitment to hospitality brought the vision of the Grand Master to life every single day. We are forever grateful for your hard work and the family we created. Our team has been given employment opportunities at Sichuan House and elsewhere. To our partners and families: Thank you for your foundational support and unwavering belief in our vision.”
The restaurant’s flagship spot, Sichuan House, will remain open and will continue serving the community with authentic flavors.
Additionally, the restaurant also announced, “Southtown Garden & Event Space: We are energized by our new space at 1127 S. St. Mary’s. This venue will be a hub for community gatherings, private celebrations, and the important work of our nonprofit, the Ciao & Zen Collective. It is here that Dashi’s spirit of global connection and collaboration truly evolves, as we build cultural bridges through the culinary arts.”
