Schlitterbahn Waterpark & Resort in New Braunfels plans to debut a new dining option, Festhaus.

“You’ll find a unique atmosphere with food favorites for the whole family,” Schlitterbahn shares on its website.

“Choose from decadent dining options that will satisfy any appetite for traditional fare. Try a double bacon cheeseburger, gourmet hot dogs that overfill the bun, corn dogs, nachos, and more.”

The statement continues, “And if you manage to save room for dessert, order up a funnel cake or have a blast with the Oreo Blaster Funnel Cake. Wash it all down with a fountain drink or bottled water.”

Additionally, Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., the waterpark’s parent company, plans to introduce a kids’ area, Schatze’s, at the New Braunfels outpost.

According to KSAT, the area will be divided into three zones — Fur-Bidden Forest, Schatze’s Paw’nd, and Fairy Tail Trail — and include water slides, a 1,200-gallon tipping water bucket, and the “Bow Wow Blaster, a first-of-its-kind water coaster for kids.”

These enhancements are “part of a companywide makeover that comes at a time when multiple theme park operators are experiencing flat or reduced attendance counts,” the report shares — adding, “Cedar Fair parks drew 7.4 million guests in the second quarter of 2023 — a 6% decrease versus a year ago.”

Festhaus and Schatze’s are both slated to open in 2024, but an exact opening date has not yet been announced.
