Shaquille O’Neal’s fast-casual concept, Big Chicken, plans to increase its presence in San Antonio.

While addresses and anticipated opening dates for the upcoming locations have not yet been disclosed, the San Antonio outposts are just a small part of franchisee partners Noordin Jhaver, Fazil Malik, and Frank Malik’s much larger Texas expansion efforts.

The team recently shared a press statement detailing their intentions to open a total of 50 outlets across the state — in San Antonio, as well as Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the chain, Big Chicken was founded by the National Basketball Association star, along with JRS Hospitality and Authentic Brands Group, in 2018. Since then, the franchise has expanded to 18 locations across 14 states, with many more in development.

On the menu, patrons can find Louisiana-style fried chicken sandwiches, Cheez-It macaroni, and very large cookies.
