According to Culture Map, Shiner’s Spoetzl Brewery — a “historic brewery for Shiner beer offering weekday tours with tastings, plus a gift shop,” according to its Google Business profile — is planning to debut a distillery, cocktail lounge, and restaurant on the property.

Culture Map reports that construction started on September 6 and “as of September 2024, visitors can tour the distillery and speakeasy for 45 minutes which includes a flight of Shiner craft spirits.”

At 603 E Brewery Street, “the 8,500-square-foot project includes a large, black barn in a very contemporary style” and “spanning the cocktail lounge, a restaurant with a full kitchen, a private event space, and a covered patio, it’ll provide seating for more than 200 visitors, and standing room for more than 300,” the article continues.

The cuisine offered at the upcoming eatery hasn’t been disclosed yet — though the property already boasts a BBQ joint — and an opening date has not been announced, so stay tuned for updates.
