Fredericksburg’s “all-sensory experience” Slate Theory Winery plans to renovate and expand its existing location at 10915 US-290 — near establishments such as Grape Creek Vineyards, Heath Sparkling Wines, and Signor Vineyards.

What Now San Antonio contacted the winery’s owner, Randall Jones, to inquire about the renovations, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing discloses that Slate plans to add a “new tasting room with bathrooms, kitchen, offices, [a] bar area, [and] indoor and outdoor seating.”

Construction began in February of this year and is scheduled to be completed in February 2024 — being carried out by Austin-based firm System D Architecture LLC and costing an estimated $5,000,000 in total.
