According to a recently submitted permit application, popular Arkansas-based chicken franchise Slim Chickens is expanding its San Antonio footprint.

Coming to Nacogdoches & N Loop 1604, the fast-casual eatery will land near establishments such as Dutch Bros Coffee, Jim’s Restaurants, and Whataburger.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the franchisee, Dan McGrath, but he could not provide additional information before the time of publication.

Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight, disclosing that construction of the new 2,761-square-foot restaurant will begin on October 8, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed in April 2025. For an estimated $1,200,000 Tulsa-based firm Cyntergy is carrying out the project.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, Slim Chickens offers a brief introduction on its website: “Our mission was (and is) simple: to make the best hand-breaded chicken tenders using only the freshest ingredients, served in a friendly atmosphere where people can relax and feel at home.”

In addition to chicken tenders, the Slim Chickens menu boasts chicken sandwiches, wraps, salads, and sides including macaroni and cheese, fries, and potato salad.

An opening date has not been announced yet. Follow Slim Chickens on Facebook for updates.
