Atlanta-based cheeseburger joint chain Smalls Sliders is expanding in San Antonio, planning to debut a new outpost before the end of the year, according to a recently submitted permit application.

Coming to 2418 SE Military Drive, the eatery will land near establishments such as La Gloria Mexican Cuisine, Sakana Sushi Hibachi Ramen and Bar, and Smoothie King.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, Smalls Sliders was founded in 2019. Its menu is known for being simple and affordable, boasting a few simple burger options, fries, and milkshakes.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the upcoming outpost’s franchisee, Danny Hakim, to inquire about his plans for the spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing reveals that the restaurant will measure 800 square feet and be “built in a factory off-site with a drive-thru pickup window” and no indoor seating. It will also offer a 900-square-foot covered patio area with a pick-up window for outdoor dining.

Construction is slated to begin on August 8 and finish on October 10, and the Shreveport-based firm Abrams Architecture and Design has been tasked with managing the project for an estimated $850,000.

Stay tuned for updates.
