Per a recently submitted permit application, Steak ’n Shake plans to expand its presence in San Antonio.
While the address of the upcoming outpost has not been verified, the filing reveals that construction of a new 2,932 square-foot restaurant is slated to begin on August 18 and to be completed on November 17. It will cost an estimated $1,800,000, and the Milwaukee-based firm ACS-Architectural Construction Services is managing the project.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the history of the company, Steak ‘n Shake was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois. Today, it is owned by Biglari Holdings Company — an American holding company headquartered in San Antonio — and operates over 500 locations across 26 US states, Europe (in France, Monaco, Portugal, and Spain), and in the UAE.
What Now San Antonio spoke briefly with the location’s franchisee; he could not provide additional information before publication, though. He did, however, emphasize that the plans are subject to change.
