Texan Tea is brewing up another location to pour into the Greater San Antonio community. New Braunfels is set to get a second location, this time across town from the original Texan Tea. The natural drink spot is expected to open at 2286 Alyssa Way.
According to a recently filed state permit, construction on Texan Tea #2 is slated to start in March of this year and wrap up by mid-September 2026. Construction timelines are often subject to change, and Texan Tea owner, Jodi Zellner, says that’ll likely be the case this time around. What Now San Antonio spoke with Zellner about the new opening, who shared that she looks to open the second Texan Tea to come to New Braunfels this Spring in either April or May.
“Just trying to provide drink options for people on the go. Moms in the cars with kids that can easily grab something that’s not a soda,” Zellner said.
“We try to give back to the community as much as we can, and we try to donate to schools as much as possible.”
Zellner and her family founded Texan Tea in 2020. As a proud local family, Zellner shared that they love supporting their community, especially the incredible New Braunfels schools.
“Texan Tea is a New Braunfels drive-thru that takes the utmost care to serve you the highest quality, specialty iced teas while you’re on the go. Hydrate your family with pure refreshments made with the cleanest ingredients,” the Texan Tea website reads.
“There’s nothing more Texan than excellent customer service and great tasting tea, and here at Texan Tea, we aim to bring that experience to our customers.”
For Zellner, popping up the Texan Tea along Alyssa Way was a no-brainer. The new location is far enough from the original Texan Tea along IH35 and spreads the Texan Tea love around.
“We knew the person who’s building the building, and we’ve been looking for a second location on the opposite side of town. So this one was an easy yes,” Zellner said.
“We’re just trying to keep it real simple. It’s just tea, lemonade, and water. We don’t have any food products, and we don’t plan to. We’re just trying to make an easy option for people to grab drinks while they’re out shopping or take stuff home for the weekend for parties.”
Texan Tea offers a variety of tea flavors, like Sweet Peach, Unsweet Mint, or Sweet Strawberry, to be added to the lemonade and water mix.
“Our number one is Coconut Sweets. Everybody loves that. But, something really crazy to try is the Banana Tea, and that is really good,” Zellner said.
As excitement mounts, you can be sure to hear more details about the new Texan Tea set to come to New Braunfels this Spring at 2286 Alyssa Way.
“We’re very excited to be a part of this town that we grew up in and keep building and supporting the community. We love it here,” Zellner said.
