Nashville-style hot chicken concept Urban Bird Hot Chicken plans to debut a new outpost in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Business Journal.
Coming to 17603 La Cantera Parkway, the eatery will soon be neighbored by establishments such as CAVA, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, and the restaurant Postino The Rim.
“I know that hot chicken is kind of a trendy thing today, and I think it’ll stick, but I really wanted to focus on the chicken,” the concept’s owner, Brandon Gawthorp, tells the Journal.
“I think it took me 60 experiments just to get the chicken recipe where it’s at, and I think it’s very good,” he adds.
For readers who are just learning about the Texas-based chain, Urban Bird Hot Chicken was founded in September 2020 in Katy by Brandon and Chantel Fiaschetti. Since then, the chain has expanded to 28 locations, including both operating and soon-to-open outposts.
The veteran-owned, fast-casual brand has become known for its Halal-certified, antibiotic-free, hormone-free, Nashville-style hot chicken; and menu items include chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, Hot Cheeto macaroni and cheese, and fries (topped with macaroni and cheese, tenders, pickles, and the house sauce).
What Now San Antonio reached out Gawthorp to inquire about the expansion; however, he could not provide additional information before publication.
