According to a recently submitted permit application, a new eatery listed as TexMex Cantina is debuting in Kerrville.

Coming to 1165 Junction Highway, the restaurant will land near establishments such as Chili’s Grill & Bar, Raising Cane’s, and Sonic Drive-In.

Owner Carlos Benavides III tells What Now San Antonio, “Our version of carnitas will be something that people are going want… it’s a hybrid product, 100% beef, unlike most carnitas made using pork.” He adds, “that with our homemade tortillas and homemade salsas will blow people’s socks off.”

The menu will also boast inventive plates such as deconstructed enchiladas and chicken fried chicken topped with beurre blanc sauce and served over risotto — and drinks including frozen palomas and “hybrid martinis.”

Concerning the ambiance, Benavides shares, “We have a beautiful lakeside location” that will offer indoor and outdoor dining with 26 to 21 spots at the bar.

TexMex Cantina will open in mid-2025. Stay tuned for updates.
