Thai Bird is continuing to spread its wings across the Alamo City. The chicken and wine eatery is set to open its second location in Castle Hills at 2211 NW Military, Suite 121.

“We saw our next unit growth in Castle Hills. We love everything about the neighborhood,” Thai Bird co-owner, David Gilbert, said in an interview via email with What Now San Antonio.
“The stars aligned, and the right opportunity presented itself–at the right time.”
Gilbert shared that he is optimistic about the second location opening in the next few months.
The James Beard Award 2013 nominee started the Thai-style chicken concept with his fiancée, Kristin Alvarez. Offering bold ‘Thai Flavors, curated wine, and great vibes,’ Thai Bird has grown from its debut brick and mortar on Broadway to embarking on its first expansion.
“David brings more than two decades of global cooking experience to the table — shaped by fine-dining kitchens, extensive travel, and years living and learning throughout Thailand,” the Thai Bird website reads.
Thai Bird cooks up and dishes out a variety of Thailand-inspired chicken dishes, including the Chopped Chicken Salad and Jumbo Chicken Tenders.
Gilbert shared that the Thai Bird signature dishes are the Thai Rotisserie Chicken, the Thai Fried Chicken, and the Mini Donuts, made to order.
“We are excited to be part of the Castle Hills community and meet all of you!” Gilbert said via email.
Thai Bird is anticipated to open its second location in the Greater San Antonio Region in Castle Hills at 2211 NW Military Suite 121 this spring.
