The Hayden, a popular Jewish diner, will be opening a second location this spring in San Antonio at 10003 N.W. Military Highway. It will be located inside the Alon Town Centre, just across from a Jewish community center.
“We have a lot of regulars, so we’re excited for this new location because it’s close to a lot of neighborhoods,” says owner Adam Lampinstein. “We’ve envisioned ourselves as a neighborhood diner.”
The Hayden, opened in 2020, brings traditional Jewish cuisine to a family-friendly, southern Texas-inspired diner location. The original restaurant, located on Broadway, is well-known for its potato latke, pastrami recipes, smoked fish, and matzo ball soup.
On top of bringing back the classics, the new location will additionally feature a bar menu and a soft-serve machine. It will also have patio and indoor dining. Lampinstein also says they’re looking into new additions to the menu, as well.
“We’ll definitely listen to our new customers,” Lampinstein says. “We want to see if there’s something they feel is missing in the area, and fulfill that need.”
