The owner of The Jerk Shack, a “humble window-serve for jerk chicken, patties & curries” in San Antonio, is debuting a new concept in the city.

According to a recent report by San Antonio Current, the eatery will be called Port Royal and it’s coming to Hemisfair’s Schulze House — a 1,750-square-foot space that dates back to 1893.

Similar to The Jerk Shack, Port Royal will reportedly focus on Caribbean cuisine, shares San Antonio Current. As part of an ongoing Hemisphere park restoration project, it will join tenants such as Bombay Bicycle Club and Künstler Tap Haus.

“This will be the district’s ninth food and beverage operator and we are over the moon about Chef Nicola and her team joining the Hemisfair family,” shares Andres Andujar, Hemisfair’s CEO, in a media statement.

Renovations on the two-story space are slated to begin this fall and opening is projected for summer 2024.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Owner Nicola Blaque, but she was unable to provide additional information before the time of publication.
