The founder of Orderup — a 20-year-old, fast-casual American restaurant situated in San Antonio’s Alamo Heights neighborhood — is planning to debut a new concept at the upcoming food hall Make Ready Market.

David Galbreath tells What Now San Antonio that Eet-Up will offer street-food-inspired fare similar to what is served at Orderup, but with a limited menu — focusing on burgers. Shakes, fries, chocolate chip cookies, and fresh-squeezed lemonade will also be available to diners.

“It’s not the typical fast-food burger,” Galbreath shares, adding, “We do everything from scratch: pressing the patties, cutting the fries by hand, baking the cookies.”

For readers who are unfamiliar with the upcoming food hall, Make Ready — a Hixon Properties-backed project — is taking over the former Cavender auto dealership space at 203 8th Street, “nestled between Broadway and the San Antonio River.”

Intending to “feature eats and treats from San Antonio’s epicurean notables and new voices at the table,” according to the Make Ready website, additional upcoming tenants include Pescado Bravo, Sofia’s Pizzeria, and Thai Bird.

Eet-Up is slated to open sometime this fall.
