According to MySA, Max & Louie’s New York Diner is expanding — gearing up to debut a new bakery concept, Melvin’s, that will “satiate San Antonio’s sweet tooth with fresh espresso, homemade ice cream, and baked goods.”

“It’s a definite work in progress,” owner Drew Glick recently shared on the locally operated podcast The More You Know, the Better It Tastes — adding that it was named in honor of his father.

The bakery will be attached to Max & Louie’s New York Diner at 226 W. Bitters Road, Suite 126. “Essentially, they’ll cut a hole in the wall so both concepts are attached,” the Journal reports.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Glick, the local restaurateur is behind the now-shuttered concept Drew’s American Grill, as well as Max & Louie’s — “a beloved diner has earned a strong following with their massive menu of diner classics including breakfast platters and New York Deli sandwiches,” according to MySA.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
