Tinto Y Tapas Restaurant and Latin Jazz Lounge is embarking on a musical and culinary journey that just might shake, rattle, and rock San Antonio. The new jazz lounge and eatery is expected to make its big debut early next year at 14355 Blanco Rd.
What Now San Antonio first heard about Tinto Y Tapas Restaurant and Latin Jazz Lounge from a Craigslist ad looking for a line cook. After scouring the web to see who was behind the new soon-to-be dining experience, we stumbled upon a shocking revelation. Well-known radio personality and host of the weekly “Smooth Sunday Jazz” show on KRTU, Judi Deleon, is teaming up with partner, spouse, and multi-award-winning percussionist, Henry Brun, to fulfill Deleon’s lifelong dream of bringing a flavorful, in more ways than one, hot spot to San Antonio with the opening of Tinto Y Tapas Restaurant and Latin Jazz Lounge.
“Our goal is to celebrate culinary, culture, and chords with our community all under one roof,” Deleon shared via email.
“We believe a great restaurant and wine bar isn’t about endless wine lists, white tablecloths, or pretentious sommeliers. It’s about quality, character, and connection – topped with a layer of tasteful Jazz + Latin Jazz.”
Deleon shared that she intends to hold a soft opening in January with a grand opening slated for February 2026.
Offering a daily menu, Sunday brunch, and a happy hour menu, Tinto Y Tapas Restaurant and Latin Jazz Lounge invites guests to savor the flavors that seep out of the owners and feel the rhythm and ambiance with each bite and movement.
“Tinto Y Tapas is bursting with flavor, rhythm, and ambiance—like a sensory passport to a sultry night in Spain,” the website reads.
The menu details traditional and modern halal items such as calamari, fattoush salad, and croquetas, to name a few.
Just looking at the brunch menu, you can still guests are in for a good time with everything from arepas to a delicious Montecristo sandwich up for grabs, and you can’t forget about the mimosa offerings.
Deleon shared that a must-try, and her favorite dish, is the Mediterranean Burrata & Empanaditas San Juan.
Beyond the good eats are the good vibes, and that’s where Brun comes in. The designated “vibe sommelier” will help pair the beats with bites for Tinto Y Tapas Restaurant and Latin Jazz Lounge guests. Brun is at the helm of curating the musical talent that will be showcased at Tinto Y Tapas in what the site says is the first Latin Jazz Lounge, affectionately known as “The Green Room.”
“We are really excited about “The Green Room” at Tinto Y Tapas Restaurant, where we look forward to hosting some great local, regional, and national musicians and artists,” Deleon said.
“After countless hours spent in Green Rooms before performances worldwide, we felt inspired to create a space where musicians and artists could truly feel at home.”
San Antonio, find your little piece of home at Tinto Y Tapas Restaurant and Latin Jazz Lounge when the new eatery opens at 14355 Blanco Rd. in February 2026.
