According to a recently submitted permit application, two Freddy’s Frozen Custard outposts in San Antonio are going to be renovated soon.
Located at 7707 Interstate 35 Access Road — near establishments such as Buffalo Wild Wings, Ojos Locos Sports Cantina Southpark, and South Park Mall — and 8843 Potranco Road, neighbored by the fast-casual eatery Bojangles, Dutch Bros Coffee, and Jimmy John’s, both shops will soon undergo an “interior and exterior refresh,” per the filing.
What Now San Antonio reached out to the franchisee, Joe DePinto Jr. of Five Point Growth Partners, to inquire about the upcoming renovations, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing states that updates to the spots are scheduled to begin in August and September and be completed by mid-October. Both projects, estimated to cost $300,000 each, will be managed by the Kansas-based firm Tessere.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the chain, Freddy’s briefly introduces itself on its website: “Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers was co-founded in 2002 by brothers Bill and Randy Simon with their friend and business partner, Scott Redler… [and] has become one of the fastest growing franchises in the U.S.,” the statement continues — boasting that the company presently operates more than 400 locations.
On the menu are items such as the BBQ Brisket Steakburger, the Freddy’s Original Patty Melt, and the Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich, alongside a variety of milkshake options, hot dogs, and sides including fries and onion rings.
Whether the renovation work will affect the locations’ operating hours has not yet been made clear. Follow Freddy’s Frozen Custard on Facebook for updates.
