UBP Burgers fans rejoice, the San Antonio food truck fav is opening a brick-and-mortar location! A permit for the popular burger joint’s new storefront was filed last year, showing that UBP Burgers will open not far from where the food truck is currently parked at 588 Business 35. My San Antonio reports that UBP Burgers is now set to open in mid-January.
What Now San Antonio reached out to owner John Evans, who confirmed that the new eatery will open early next year, but Evans did not yet have an official opening date to share just yet.
According to the permit, construction on the new UBP Burgers spot was set to start in January this year and wrap up in September, but permitting delays pushed the opening date back. With plans back on track, UBP Burgers is set to bring its iconic main dish to its storefront early next year.
“My two favorite parts of a burger are the juicy center and the grilled caramelized outer-ring of the burger,” Evans writes on the burger brand’s website.
“I designed a burger press that would push the center to the outside ring of the burger. Basically, making a Donut-Shaped-Burger. That allowed what used to be the juicy center to now be on the outside ring of the burger. So, I have the thick juicy part and the grilled caramelized outside all in my first bite.”
The burgers have become the bedrock of the operation, but that’s not all that UPB Burgers cooks up and dishes out. Customers can also try out the UBP Chicken Burger, chicken strips and fries, and a variety of loaded fries.
Can you say yum? It is no wonder that the UBP Burgers food truck was named New Braunfels’ best food truck of 2024 in the Herald-Zeitung’s “Best of New Braunfels” awards.
Now guests, UBP Burgers lovers, and first timers can try out all of the burger joint’s deliciousness in the comfort of a sit-down eatery that will also have a drive-thru.
While no official opening date has been released, with all of the buzz around the popular burger food truck, we’re sure you’ll see, hear, and possibly smell the burgers coming when UBP Burgers opens 588 Business 35 in January 2026.
