According to a recently submitted permit application, Texas-based chain Whataburger is planning to renovate an outpost at 12806 N Interstate 35 in Live Oak — near establishments such as Biff Buzby’s Burgers, Drive Time Used Cars, and La Quinta Inn.

Updates to the 3,000-square-foot space are described as an “enhancement/remodel to include: new lighting, ceiling tile, flooring, insulation, hardware and doors, drywall, paint, water closer, mirrors, coat hooks, sales counter, drink counter, air conditioning components & concrete replacement.”

Construction is scheduled to begin on July 24 and finish on August 2, 2024, and will cost an estimated $120,000 to complete.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Whataburger representatives to inquire about the refresh, but they could not provide additional information before publication.

A reopening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
