According to a recently submitted permit application, Whataburger is expanding its San Antonio-area footprint; gearing up to debut its second outpost in Spring Branch.

Coming to 14240 US Hwy 281 N., the fast-casual eatery will land near establishments such as 7-Eleven, Dollar General, and Reflection Outpost.

Construction of the 2,242-square-foot restaurant is slated to begin on July 29 and finish on October 14, 2024 — and Houston-based firm Castles Design Group will carry out the project for an estimated $375,000.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Whataburger representatives to inquire about the new spot, but they could not provide additional information before publication.

An opening date has not been announced yet.
