According to MySA, Austin-based restaurant chain Z’Tejas may be looking to expand to San Antonio.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, it offers a brief introduction on its website: “Our dishes combine… Tex-Mex with the refined elegance of Southern cooking. From sizzling fajitas to our signature cornbread, every plate reflects our commitment to culinary craftsmanship.”

Since debuting its first location in Austin in 1989, it has expanded to Austin, Kyle, and Phoenix — and the company’s COO, Robby Nethercut, recently shared that the business is looking toward San Antonio for future expansion.

“If we were to expand what we learned on our Kyle store, like going out of Austin and out of Phoenix, where we already have a presence [is]…we would tap another market,” shares Nethercut. He adds, “We wouldn’t continue to, just put it into a market where we’re already at… I would push for one in San Antonio.”

“Z’Tejas previously had a restaurant at The Shops at La Cantera, which opened in 2010 but appears to have closed around 2012,” the Journal reports.
