Walmart Supercenter on the Far Northside of San Antonio is planning to offer coffee and breakfast alongside groceries. The Dunkin’ Donuts counter at 1515 N. Loop 1604 E. will mark the first national coffee shop inside a San Antonio Walmart.
Dunkin’ Donuts to Join Walmart: A First for San Antonio
Walmart is one of the go-to options for many shoppers for their monthly groceries and everyday errands. Adding a coffee counter gives shoppers a convenient spot to grab breakfast or a coffee while they shop.
A filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows the Walmart plans to add an in-store Dunkin’ Donuts during its remodeling. According to the filing, the store’s interior will have over 30,000 square feet, to be converted to accommodate the coffee counter.
This will be the first of its kind in San Antonio; other Walmart-Dunkin locations already stand in other parts of Texas, like in Cypress, Borger, and Rockport. The construction is expected to take place between February 8, 2026, and May 28, 2026. The privately funded project is estimated to cost $215,000.
The Dunkin’ counter will serve coffee, donuts, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches, all available for grab-and-go convenience.
Walmart Far Northside Remodel and Customer Impact
The redesign of the store at the Far Northside is part of Walmart’s wider strategy to update and modernize hundreds of its stores in the United States. The company has focused on its Store of the Future strategy, which promises to construct or remodel over 150 stores nationwide, with an emphasis on renewed design, added services, and better shopping experiences.
Converting Walmart stores into Supercenters creates more jobs and enhances the shopping experience for local customers. The remodeling decisions are expected to prove as holistic growth path.
Construction at the Far Northside store will begin in early 2026 and continue through spring, with Dunkin’ Donuts opening later in the summer.
Located near Methodist Hospital, Stone Oak, and Hollywood Park, the new Dunkin’ is likely to draw both Walmart shoppers and local commuters.
With the renovations of the Walmart planned for the year 2026, the introduction of a Dunkin’ Donuts counter is a new convenience for the shoppers of San Antonio. The arrival of the coffee shop falls under the greater initiative to modernize the stores and provide added value, as similar relationships have been made in other Texas communities.
