LEGO Code Break is an interactive and adventurous quest by the LEGO Group to bring gaming fans together. The event runs from October 16 to 18. Players will compete to uncover a secret code inspired by Minecraft, Fortnite, and Sonic the Hedgehog for a chance to unlock major prizes. The quest culminates with the opening of a prize vault at San Diego’s Gaslamp Park.
LEGO Code Break Brings Live Gaming Experience in San Diego
The LEGO Group’s new initiative, LEGO Code Break, bridges the gap between virtual and real-world play. Fans can solve clues found in Minecraft, Fortnite, and Sonic the Hedgehog content. Each clue reveals part of a secret code that players can use to help unlock the real-life Code Break Vault. Once the vault opens on October 19, fans can enter the winning code at LEGO.com or CodeBreak.
Beth McKenna, Head of U.S. Marketing at The LEGO Group, said the event celebrates LEGO’s legacy of gaming and creativity. “With LEGO Code Break, we’re combining our rich gaming history with a live, hands-on experience to show how gaming culture thrives when digital and real-world play come together,” she said.

The quest begins on October 16 for three days, where the contestants will be unveiling the mystery vault in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. Over the three-day challenge, fans can follow gaming creators like TypicalGamer, FORMULA, and JustJesss for hidden letters, numbers, and symbols. These will help them complete the vault code. Once the vault is cracked, fans have 36 hours to submit the correct combination online for a chance to win.
Hosted alongside TwitchCon, the activation will transform San Diego into a live gaming hub. Fans can visit Gaslamp Park and see the massive vault, build their own mini-LEGO gaming controller, and snap photos with larger-than-life LEGO recreations of classic video game characters. The event will run from October 16 to 18, from 12 PM to 8 PM daily, offering a hands-on experience that brings the quest to life.
