Legoland to Launch Space-Themed Land with Immersive Ride in 2026

The immersive space-themed land will open at Legoland California resort in early 2026. According to Fox5 San Diego, the theme park announced that it will feature a new family-friendly indoor roller coaster that will blast off from the Legoland Spaceport 886 launchpad, named in homage to one of the original LEGO Space Buggy sets, #886.

It will be LEGOLAND California’s first indoor roller coaster in nearly 20 years. The family coaster will combine immersive storytelling and next-gen ride systems, offering guests a space-age experience from launch to landing.

The space land plans to have two more cosmic rides, in addition to the indoor roller coaster, designed for all age groups and offering a variety of interstellar adventures. A Junior Astronaut Training Zone will give toddlers a chance to explore in a dedicated play area designed just for them.

Visitors can recharge at the new Galactic Grub and Fare, a themed dining spot serving space-inspired eats and drinks. The expansion will also include themed retail shops offering souvenirs and LEGO merchandise tied to the space adventure.

The new space-themed land is part of a $90 million expansion by LEGOLAND’s parent company, Merlin Entertainments. Merlin says the expansion marks the largest single in-park investment across its LEGOLAND resorts as part of its ongoing destination strategy.

The space-themed land will expand LEGOLAND California’s lineup with new rides, dining, and themed experiences designed for families. More details about this stellar expansion, including specific ride names and the grand opening, will be shared as the 2026 launch approaches.
