On Tuesday, officials from the health department conducted a routine health inspection at the restaurant. Multiple violations were identified in the inspection.
Violations Found During Health Inspection
The inspection report cited vermin infestation as the major violation observed at the restaurant. A minor violation about food not being held at or between 130°F and 134°F or 42°F and 50°F was also noted. Additional violations included failure to separate raw and cooked foods and not storing items at least six inches off the ground.
The officer also observed grease accumulation on the sides of the deep fryer. There was a lack of plugs/stoppers to fill up the warewashing sink. Moreover, testing strips/equipment for warewashing sanitizer were not present in the facility at the time of inspection.
Drain boards for the dishwashing machine were used for storing equipment, as per the report. The report also noted non-compliant conditions involving the floor, walls, and utensil storage areas.
Due to the nature of the health hazards identified, inspectors ordered the restaurant to close temporarily. Once all the safety lapses are eliminated, a reinspection will be conducted, and based on the results, the restaurant will be allowed to reopen.
