85C Bakery Cafe, a global Taiwanese bakery and cafe, appears interested in a new location in San Diego at 4150 Convoy Street.
The proposed cafe will open in the former home of At-Home Medical, a medical supply store within the Convoy Village Shopping Center, according to recently submitted documents to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. While an exact opening date has not been announced, the new location will bring 85°C’s signature bakery items, coffee, and beverages to the Convoy corridor, offering customers both sweet and savory options, pastries, and specialty box sets.
Founded in 2003 by Cheng-Hsueh Wu, 85C Bakery Cafe began with the vision of offering high-quality pastries and drinks at affordable prices. The first U.S. location opened in 2008 in Irvine, quickly gaining popularity and becoming a culinary destination known for its variety of breads, cakes, and beverages. Since then, the brand has expanded to over 1,000 locations worldwide, with multiple stores already operating across California, including San Diego, Irvine, Mira Mesa, and Oceanside.
The new Convoy Street location marks another step in 85C Bakery Cafe’s U.S. expansion, offering a menu that blends classic Taiwanese breads, cream-filled buns, Danish pastries, and specialty items like the 85C Savory and Sweet Box Sets. Customers can also enjoy coffee, tea, and specialty drinks crafted to complement the baked goods. Signature offerings such as the Center Cut Kalbi, Bacon & Cheese breads, Mango Custard Bun, and Chocolate Croissants are perfect for sharing or enjoying individually, catering to both casual visitors and groups seeking a quick, quality cafe experience.
This Convoy Street space is an excellent landing spot for 85C, positioned within a bustling shopping center with strong foot traffic and a growing culinary corridor. The new cafe is expected to attract both residents and visitors familiar with 85C’s reputation for premium yet accessible baked goods and drinks.
