LuckyBolt, the Sorrento Valley farm-to-table kitchen and bakery that has been putting out healthy “everyday fare” for over a decade is starting its newest chapter: The Lounge at LuckyBolt. Located right next door to its daytime café and bakery, The Lounge draws from the same core values that make LuckyBolt a community favorite —simplicity, nourishment and connection—to offer evenings filled with carefully crafted farm-to-table fare, a curated assortment of beer and wine and a pleasant atmosphere that is decisively loungy.

Rooted in the belief that the best meals start at the farm, The Lounge builds on LuckyBolt’s core promise: food you can feel proud to eat because the ingredients are coming directly from local farms. “This is still LuckyBolt — the same focus on nourishing the community — just with a focus on incorporating the elements of time and physical space into that core principle ,” said Kris Schlesser, LuckyBolt founder and head baker in a statement. “We believe there is more to eating than just the act of consumption. To quote Wendell Berry, eating is an agricultural act. Every choice we make at the table reflects the kind of farms, the kind of food and ultimately the kind of community we want to live in.”

Guests can expect an atmosphere that is warm, intimate and relaxing. When designing The Lounge Schlesser set out to make a space designed to be an antidote to the frenetic energy of the Modern Age. “The dimensions of the space immediately reminded me of places where I used to hang out when I lived in New York and San Francisco, these small neighborhood eateries and bars where you’re just happy to be, little patches and forget about work and whatever is happening in the digital realm. When you visit The Lounge, we want you to naturally unplug for a bit and leave with a sense that you’ve tapped into a well of good energy.” In order to achieve his intended goal of creating a third-space worthy of being called a lounge, Schlesser and his team took a holistic approach, focusing on details of the lighting, acoustics, colors and materials. “From the outset, we were very deliberate about wanting the space to be a lounge, not a restaurant or a bar. The difference is entirely a matter of detail.”

LuckyBolt works directly with regional farms including Hukama Produce, Dassi Family Farm, Schaner Farm, Rodney Kawano Farms, Rio Del Rey, Happy Hens, Perennial Pastures and Mountain Meadow Mushrooms. By sourcing from growers they know and trust, the team ensures that every meal reflects thoughtful agriculture and strengthens San Diego’s local food community.

A Natural Evolution
Since its founding in 2011, LuckyBolt has grown from a humble lunch-delivery service to a cornerstone of San Diego’s slow food scene. With a café serving hearty breakfasts and nourishing lunches, an in-house bakery that produces daily batches of fresh sourdough and viennoiserie, with original recipes by Chef Cory Lewis (aka Mom to Kris) and a commitment to sourcing directly from regional farms, LuckyBolt has built a reputation for making food that is craveable and at the same time clean and nourishing.

The Lounge at LuckyBolt represents the next step for the brand—a space where neighbors can gather any time of day and find nourishment and respite from the frenzy of the Modern Age. It embodies LuckyBolt’s enduring mission to build a stronger community through food by connecting San Diegans with the farmers who grow it.

Where to Find The Lounge
The Lounge at LuckyBolt is evenings at LuckyBolt’s San Diego location. Guests can expect seasonal menus, regular pop-up dinners and an atmosphere that carries the same warmth and integrity that has defined LuckyBolt for over a decade.
