A Tea 7 is heading South to set up its second cafe location. According to a recent permit filing, the boba tea lounge is expected to join Bonita Point Plaza in Chula Vista.
A Tea 7 currently operates one cafe in the College Area, which introduced itself as a new name in town with classic boba flavors in 2021. The new space in Chula Vista is outfitted with a kitchen, which will allow the brand to explore food offerings to pair with its boba drinks.
Owner Aaron Nguyen tells What Now San Diego that the menu is still in development but he intends to get creative and offer options like spicy chicken and Vietnamese-influenced snacks.
A Tea 7 boba lounge offers a mix of freshly brewed teas, flavored fruit teas, and milk teas, with customizable options and loads of toppings.
Their specialTEA menu features drinks like the Taro King with mashed taro, sea salt cold foam, and ube drizzle, or the popular Sinking Violet, a mix of green with purple as ube drizzle joins a cup of Matcha milk tea with brown sugar boba.
The Chula Vista location is currently undergoing a remodel and is expected to open as soon as next month. A Tea 7 is currently hiring for bobaristas to join their team in both locations. Follow their Instagram for more information.
