Amalfi Cucina Italiana is preparing to expand beyond San Marcos with a second restaurant location in Carmel Valley. The Italian restaurant is expected to join The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch, replacing Flora Bar + Kitchen. Flora recently took to social media to say its farewells and closed operations as of April 8th.

Co-founders Giuseppe Annunziata, Emilio Muslija, executive chef Marcello Avitabile, and executive pizza chef Joseph Serra have set the scene on Lake San Marcos as a makeshift Amalfi Coast.

All former alumni of Buona Forchetta, the group introduced a multi-concept dining experience with Amalfi Cucina Italiana, the dockside Italian-American fusion Amalfi Marina Bar, and casual Enoteca.

The restaurants are known for their housemade pasta dishes, Neapolitan-style pizzas, a carefully-selected vino list, plus a weekly schedule of live entertainment and wine pairing events.

Amalfi Cucina Italiana partner Giuseppe Annunziata tells What Now San Diego that guests can expect fine food in a casual environment that’s family-friendly. An opening date has not been announced for the new location at The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch. Visit the website and follow on Instagram for updates and information.
