American Retro Diner and Bakery from Downtown El Cajon are gearing up to expand with a food truck. With the intent to serve up All-American cuisine at local car shows, Owner Aleis Papaia has found the perfect niche market to roll out their new truck.
Downtown El Cajon is host to Cajon Classic Cruise Car Show, held every Wednesday night at Main and Magnolia. The show caters to motor enthusiasts, highlighting American Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and Groovy Vans from decades-past.
Just a few doors down from the Car Show, you’ll find American Retro Diner and Bakery. The restaurant serves up breakfast and diner classics for lunch like burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads. Plus fresh-baked goods like danishes, bagels, and muffins.
Catering to their clientele who are fans of vintage Americana, their new food truck will serve up their menu highlights at local events. Mother of the Owner, Marina Penzel will be running the food truck element of American Retro. Penzel tells What Now San Diego they’ve designed the truck to look like a Woodie Wagon, finalizing the retro look to match their brand.
Keep a look out for the American Retro Food Truck as they gear up for event and catering bookings, plus appearances at the Classic Car Show and at local breweries in El Cajon and Santee. Visit their Website for more information or email [email protected] for bookings.
