Annabel Cohen Gourmet, a boutique catering company in San Diego, is working toward a storefront by starting with a ghost kitchen.
Annabel Cohen, a French native who moved to San Diego after graduating from the prestigious Ferrandi Pastry School in Paris, recently submitted documentation to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality to open within Hancock Kitchen at 3425 Hancock Street. This achievement furthers her goal of crafting desserts and finger food for private and corporate events. Cohen tells What Now San Diego she hopes to launch from the ghost kitchen in the next few weeks.
Cohen is currently in the permitting process, which marks a significant milestone for her boutique catering company. She shared with What Now San Diego that her next goal is to open a physical location for her business. Once this brick-and-mortar store is established, the experienced pastry chef can offer even more delicious foods to the San Diego community. In the meantime, she plans to expand her brand with the support of this ghost kitchen. Ahhabel Cohen Gourmet also provides classes and features an online shop.
This is a huge accomplishment for Cohen. In 2014, she decided to travel to America and develop her skills as a pastry chef in renowned establishments. In The Hamptons, she served as the Pastry Chef at a popular local French gourmet café, where she designed seasonal menus using locally grown produce. After that, she worked at Ladurée in New York City. Her next destination was Los Angeles, where she became the Head Pastry Chef at the famous Chateau Marmont Hotel and Sunset Tower Hotel. In these roles, she led her teams in crafting exceptional menus for various Hollywood events and A-list celebrities. Now, she will focus her time and energy in San Diego with Annabel Cohen Gourmet.
