Bacio di Latte, the Italian gelato brand known for its creamy, small-batch desserts, is set to open its second San Diego site at 2636 Via De La Valle in Del Mar.
Previously, What Now San Diego reported that Bacio di Latte was getting ready to make its area debut at The Shops at La Jolla Village. Now, the company appears to be working on a second site inside the Flower Hill Promenade shopping center. Documentation recently submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality indicates that the Del Mar location is currently under review, while the La Jolla site is pending an inspection. No official opening dates have been announced for either location.
Bacio di Latte was founded in 2011 by brothers Edoardo and Luigi Tonolli and first arrived in the U.S. with a location in Newport Beach. Since then, the company has expanded across Southern California, with shops now open in Century City, Brentwood, Beverly Hills, and more. Several new stores are in the works across the region, including in Santa Monica, Calabasas, and Studio City.
When these new San Diego locations open, customers can expect freshly made gelato, crafted daily using organic milk and premium ingredients such as Sicilian pistachios and Belgian chocolate. The menu features a rotating selection of flavors, including vegan and dairy-free options, as well as espresso drinks, affogatos, and milkshakes, all served in a sleek, modern space.
This will be an excellent location for the company’s second shop in San Diego, considering the area attracts steady foot traffic due to nearby businesses such as Whole Foods, CorePower Yoga, and several popular restaurants and boutiques. It’s a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike, making it a strong setting for a premium dessert concept like Bacio di Latte.
