A brand new restaurant, BAHAR Indian Restaurant & Catering, is getting ready to debut in San Diego, located at 10436 Craftsman Way.

The new concept is set to replace Capri Blu in the 4S Commons Town Center. Owner Abdul Basith tells What Now San Diego that he expects to open the new restaurant at the end of September, offering a variety of authentic Indian cuisine and Hyderabadi-style Briyani. Customers can expect everything from aromatic biryanis to fragrant curries and sizzling tandoori. BAHAR will have a $10 lunch special from Monday to Friday and a weekend brunch buffet for only $22.

“Step into our inviting dining space, where the vibrant colors and traditional decor transport you to the bustling streets of India’s vibrant markets,” according to the company’s website. “Whether you’re dining with family, friends, or colleagues, our warm and welcoming atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable experience. Our passionate chefs draw on time-honored recipes and the freshest ingredients to create dishes that are as authentic as they are delicious. From the fiery heat of our Curries to the creamy richness of our butter chicken, every dish at BAHAR is a testament to our commitment to culinary excellence.”

This isn’t the first time Basith has opened a restaurant in San Diego. The successful businessman is the founder of Tikka Lounge, Charminar Indian Restaurant & Catering, and Dosa Studio, although he tells What Now San Diego that he is no longer associated with those businesses. Now, he will take on his latest venture, highlighting India’s delicious culinary journey. The restaurant will have many incredible dishes, but the most popular will likely be the Hyderabadi Dum Biryani.

“Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, a culinary marvel from the city of Nizams, is a symphony of flavors and textures that delights the senses,” according to the company’s website. “Basmati rice, infused with saffron and spices, cradles tender pieces of marinated meat—typically chicken or mutton—creating a harmonious blend of aromatic goodness. Layer upon layer of rice and meat, slow-cooked to perfection in a sealed pot, allows the flavors to meld and intensify, resulting in a dish that’s as rich in history as it is in taste. Served with delicious raita and spicy mirchi ka salan. Hyderabadi Dum Biryani is a culinary masterpiece that has earned its place as a timeless favorite, beloved by connoisseurs of Indian cuisine worldwide.”
