Blackmarket Bakery is getting ready to add their fourth stop, rounding out two locations each in Orange County and San Diego. They will fill in 1 of 3 spaces in the much anticipated Freeman Collective project in Oceanside.

The full-service bakery and cafe owned by Chef Rachel Klemek will join the Freeman 1 building, replacing the former Red and White Market on Vista Way. They’ll neighbor breakfast taco specialists, HomeState.

In construction by the design and building teams CLTVT and Fabric Design, Freeman 1 is projected to receive a warehouse-style makeover with covered patios. The Freeman 2 building will house Artifex Brewing, Northside Shack, and Corner Pizza.

Blackmarket bakes up scratch-made breads, fruited tarts in buttery pie crust, croissants, and Brioche cinnamon rolls. For the most important meal of the day or any time of day, grab a deluxe Eggywich on a brioche bun or croissant. Or grab a grilled cheese sandwich on lemon rosemary bread and enjoy the coastal breeze at Freeman Collective’s outdoor space.

You can currently find Blackmarket Bakery in Santa Ana, Costa Mesa, and San Diego’s North Park.

According to Retail Insite who are managing commercial leases of the space, construction has begun and the project is expected to finalize in Spring 2022. Restaurants on-site are projected to open their doors Summer 2022. Follow Blackmarket Bakery on Facebook for updates.
