In a strategic move aligning with Chula Vista’s expansive redevelopment, Boss Management Group has acquired the historic Palomino Club. The venue is set for a comprehensive renovation, transforming it into a multifaceted “Night and Day Club” featuring three distinct entertainment spaces.
Owner Brian Cohen reluctantly relocated to Little Italy, San Diego, from West Hollywood as Boss Management Group took over Candy Shop, a nightclub in the Convoy District. Cohen predicted San Diego would be a six-month job, and then he would head back home to Los Angeles. In just five months, Cohen boosted sales, improved staff morale, introduced entertainment such as burlesque, fire performers, and aerialists, created a Candy Craft Cocktail menu, and ultimately found a buyer for Candy Shop, selling it for $2.4 million.
Cohen stumbled onto an ad for the Palomino Club in Chula Vista and, along with La Familia Acquisitions, acquired the new venue after intense negotiations and due diligence, according to a news release sent to What Now Media Group. The reimagined establishment will offer a vibrant nightlife experience, a relaxed daytime lounge, and a private space for birthday parties. This initiative aims to rejuvenate the local entertainment scene and provide a dynamic venue for residents and visitors.
The revamped venue will feature three distinct concepts: La Boom, a large dance club with bottle service, hookah, and live entertainment; South Beach Day Club, a Miami-style daiquiri bar with cabana service and girls in bikinis; and Dragon Room, a private, hidden, dragon-themed room in the back. The Grand Opening is projected to be the weekend of June 26th–28th, 2025.
This acquisition coincides with Chula Vista’s significant $1.5 billion bayfront redevelopment, including projects like the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center, Amara Bay, and Bayview Point. These developments are poised to transform the city’s waterfront, introducing new residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. The revitalization of the Palomino Club complements these broader efforts, contributing to Chula Vista’s emergence as a premier destination in Southern California. As the city undergoes this transformative phase, such ventures are expected to enhance the local economy and cultural landscape.
Cohen, who also goes by the stage name “MOB B0$$,” is behind this new venture. His musician’s name is MOB B0$$. A new clothing line, MOB B0$$, is ready to hit the shelves this summer. Mr. Cohen owns Boss Management Group, which boasts over 35 venues in five States and 85 Mansions and warehouses in the Los Angeles area.
