Joey, the restaurant with Canadian roots that offers classic fare in an upscale setting, is coming to Westfield UTC at 4545 La Jolla Village Drive in San Diego.

The restaurant will join luxury retailers like Chanel and Tom Ford as part of UTC’s 70,000-square-foot expansion, set to replace the old Nordstrom space, according to the San Diego Tribune.

Joey was founded in 1992 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and remains a family-owned and operated business. According to its website, CEO Jeff Fuller began his career “flipping burgers, washing dishes, and sweeping floors.”  Fuller now leads more than 32 Joey restaurants, with the company planning to expand its portfolio through 2030. Although there are nearly three dozen Joey restaurants, each one is designed to be unique to its neighborhood, with no two Joeys alike.

What is consistent, however, is its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Although no two are alike, the restaurant offers classic North American cuisine, such as mini steak French dip sandwiches with Gruyère cheese and garlic butter, and seared salmon sushi with shaved serrano peppers.

All Joey locations also offer a full bar program that includes specialty cocktails, such as the Supersonic Gin + Tonic, made with gin and a lime slush, and its own Maker’s Mark Joey Reserve peach brûlée bourbon.

The restaurant is also popular for its Adult Snack Packs that combine a cocktail with a light meal. Guests can choose between truffle fries and a mini martini, roasted corn guacamole and a margarita, or a Joey cheeseburger paired with a glass of wine or beer.
