Chef and Owner Misael Guerrero is planning two new locations of his popular LA-area restaurants in the San Diego market. The news rolled out this week via SanDiegoVille that La Conde will be taking over a space formerly occupied by Donovan’s Steakhouse on K Street. Soon after, SanDiegoVille reported yet another restaurant called Mamá Por Dios is opening from the Emme Group team on Island Ave in the Gaslamp.
La Conde (formerly La Condesa) in Santa Monica features Latin American cuisine with a twist. From indulgent steaks, to burgers, sushi rolls, and fresh fish dishes like Ceviche and Aquachile. Their extensive signature cocktail menu also boasts Latin American flavors like Tamarind Liquer in The Tama, or Chile Ancho Liquer in The Gladiator.
Mamá Por Dios Mexican Bistro in Rancho Cucamonga and Beverly Hills offers many seafood and steak dishes, using only fresh ingredients. You’ll find Baja flavors like Langosta Puerto Nuevo, which San Diegans may be familiar with from trips down the coast. Leave your flip flops in Baja because this restaurant enforces a dress code to uphold their elegant dining style.
According to reports, La Conde is expected to open by the end of 2021. We’ll have to wait for Mama Por Dios until late 2022. Keep up with the many projects by Chef Misael Guerrero via Instagram: La Conde Restaurants and Mamá Por Dios.
