Clementina’s Sweets, a San Diego-based online bakery that offers delicious homemade desserts, is progressing towards opening a storefront.

Owner Esmeralda Jimenez has been serving Southern California with her delicious made-from-scratch desserts since 2019, when it started as a passion project for weekends and off-hours. Now, the self-made business owner is taking the next step and will start offering her treats from a virtual kitchen via Kitchen Rental Solutions. Jimenez tells What Now San Diego she expects to start operating from this space by the end of the year as she is waiting on permits and inspections.

This is just the beginning for Jimenez. She tells What Now San Diego that while this is a small step, her ultimate goal is to open her own brick-and-mortar storefront in San Diego. When she started the business during the pandemic, she was still working as a property administrator. After a loved one passed away, she decided to focus on Clementina’s Sweets. Since then, she has proved her desserts desirable and now has the opportunity to sell them from a commercial kitchen.

When Jimenez starts operating from the virtual kitchen, customers can expect a variety of delicious sweet treats, such as conchitas, muffins, and custom-made cakes. For more savory options, Clementina’s Sweets will offer rolls, biscuits, empanadas, and garlic buns. Customers can place orders online and pay via Zelle or Venmo. The business does not deliver on holidays.
