Crack Taco Shop, home of the world-famous Crack Tri-Tip Taco, is preparing to open a new location in Encinitas at 110 Leucadia Blvd #110.

The company’s third location is set to open at the corner of Leucadia Boulevard and North Vulcan Avenue, according to documentation submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. Owner Steve Abbo tells What Now San Diego that this location is expected to open before Summer 2025 with limited indoor and outdoor seating. The small format location is ideal for takeout and delivery, Abbo says, with customers still able to order at the restaurant. This Crack Taco Shop location will have the same menu as the Seaport Village and Mission Valley locations. However, Abbo teases the idea of possibly adding some new menu items in the future, although nothing is official yet.

Abbo, who is a serial restaurateur who owns several businesses throughout San Diego, including Crust Kitchen in Mission Valley, Hot Chickz, and a lot more, says this location, as well as the Seaport Village location, is both for his kids, Luke, Alexis, and Max, who will eventually operate these concepts on their own. Until then, Abbo serves as a minority owner and is helping the team establish its footing. Abbo tells What Now San Diego that he hopes this is just the beginning of the expansion for Crack Taco Shop, which faced a lengthy opening process for its second location. The business owner envisions the company expanding throughout the coast and hopes to eventually have locations in Del Mar, La Jolla, and more.

When the new restaurant opens in a few months, customers can expect delicious Mexican food, including the company’s famous tacos and burritos, breakfast, quesadillas, nachos, salads, sides, desserts, and more. Crack Taco Shop isn’t the only project Abbo is working on, as he tells What Now San Diego that he is also in the process of renovating and rebranding one of his other restaurants while also creating a brand new concept that he hopes to debut later this year. Additional details have been kept quiet, but Abbo will be sharing more information with What Now San Diego shortly.
